Massively overdue blog update

Criminy, I haven't posted for over a month. I guess nobody comes here any more. However, in the spirit of never say die (and I guess some RSS feed using people...) I'm blogging again! I have news updates. For real, yo.

• First, and most importantly, check out my good friend and soon-to-be-ex-colleague Dave Knapik's Fucking Awesome Button. Marvellous.
• Secondly, I won't be blogging here for much longer since I belatedly got around to registering rikabel.com, where I will presently be installing WordPress and then pimping the shit out it. No hard feelings, TypePad. It's not you, it's me. No, actually, it is you. I met this new blogging platform and she is free. Go figure.
• Thirdly, this Tuesday is my last day at headshift.com, after which I will attempt to forge a bold new future of working for myself and all that jazz, doing freelance webby socially stuff and retreating to my secret lair in Cambridge. Thanks to everyone at headshift for tolerating me for so long.  Long may you ride the crest of a wave in a space that's exploding. :D

meebo me and meebo rooms

Please note the new meebo me widget in the sidebar. you can now instant message me right from within this very blog, isn't that futuristic? i've lately been using meebo.com for all my IM needs, since I can have Gtalk and msn in one web browser window (which is nice) and they  have a pirate emoticon (which is awesome).

Even more awesome, though is meebo rooms which has just launched and has instantly got me geeking out quite a lot. Meebo rooms lets you set up a new chat room in seconds, on whatever topic takes your fancy, public or private. But, and this is where it gets kewl, you can easily embed video into the chatroom by simply including the URL in a chat, which is really quite impressive. so you can watch a video in it's own pane while chatting in another pane. nice.

Even yet still more awesomer, though, is that those lovely meebo people allow you to embed a chatroom into your own web page / blog / whatever. Which is just ridiculous. Let's see how ridiculous it actually is...

Last week I met three very lovely Norwegians - Ole-Martin, Tonje, and Stian, all of whom are DJs (hey, everyone is a DJ). Ole-Martin gave me a most excellent dj mix which I will be uploading presently, but for the time being you can get to hear him tonight when he does his internet radio show (wow, we're living in the future) at www.skranglebass.no

His show starts at 8pm Norway time (7pm UK time...er I think) - neOmar (Omar + Stian Molden + gjesten) playing a mix of minimal/techno/italo/electro. I like it, it is nice.

'Nil Point' Norway, now a hotbed of cutting-edge dance music and space disco (Lindstrom, Ost & Kjex, etc.) Whodathunkit?

Incidentally, Ole-Martin is very keen to play in London, so any promoters out there who like his stuff, get in touch! (with me...)

w00t! Revver has been offering ad revenue share for quite a while, but this is exciting news cos like YouTube is obviously the 800lb gorilla and it's high time they decided to 'reward creativity'. Now if they could only improve the quality of their video and speed up streaming, we'll be rocking...
