Damn life is good. I'm loving London at the moment. On saturday myself and some friends (Chris and Pier) went to the Tate Modern and experienced the "Weather Project", which is completely amazing. Pier and I spoiled the artwork for everyone else by playing frisbee with a FlashFlight. (Which, incidentally, we are going to sell soon). After which we headed off to Fabric for the mighty Kompakt records night with Michael Mayer and Superpitcher on the ones & twos & laptops.
Fabric is just about the perfect nightclub - housed in a converted cold store for Smithfields Market, it is a labyrinth of arched-brickwork rooms on several levels, with three rooms housing Europe's first bass-loaded "Bodysonic" sound systems (and yes, they sound, and feel, very VERY good indeed). The air-conditioning is ample and we were actually cool on the dance floor, despite its heaving with ecstatic dancers. Mayer and Superpitcher OWNED. House music from Cologne...who would have thunk it? Very multicultural/cosmopolitan/hipster/really cute crowd, all the staff were nice, and friendly young women offered us drugs. Decided we need to make a 'no thanks, i'm high on life' tshirt. Hence the new name of the blog. We're going back there on Saturday 29th, for Richie Hawtin and Ricardo Villalobos. It's going to totally rule. Ha ha.
Spookily, or not, Herr Mayer played "Disconnect" by Mr Hawtin, for which the video can be found here.
