We have a new Francis Francis X1 coffee machine at work. Yay! As a result, I've found that I can't make latte for beans. I need to learn how to froth milk. Thank goodness, then, for the coffeegeek.com milk frothing guide. My colleague Anu tells me I need to 'surf the hole'...so there you go. I look forward to practising my barista skills, going forward. And saving quite a few quid per week into the bargain.
Ah, the joy this gem brings in our kitchen every morning... Best New Year's present ever! As to coffee pads for these machines: Illy is delicious but the Lavaza pads produce a better-looking cuppa. Froth more stabile and consitent, colour nice brown. Don't try Kimbo - that's no coffee. As to milk froth: you try for a month, proudly make cappuccino every day and after that you just can't be bothered anymore (clean that nozzle after every milk steam operation, by the way).
